Tideworks representatives from both our Seattle and Rotterdam offices attended the Terminal Operators Conference (TOC) Europe June 9-11 at the Ahoy Rotterdam. In addition to providing a terrific venue to reconnect with many customers, colleagues and friends in the industry and media, the event provided us the opportunity to have a little fun with some of the latest and greatest technology currently available.
We brought with us an Oculus Rift – this is the virtual reality headset provided by Oculus VR, which was recently acquired by Facebook for some $2 billion. The ultimate craze in the gaming industry, by this time next year it will likely have found its way into nearly every teenage household in America. However, the potential applications for the technology go far beyond just video games. To begin exploring the possibilities, and have some fun in the process, Tideworks worked up a demo using our own Terminal View™ 3D operations visibility application as the foundation.
