Over the past two decades, we’ve worked diligently to bring best-of-breed TOS solutions to terminals across the globe. This latest iteration of Mainsail improves upon our past technologies while still keeping the core ease-of-use and manageability of past TOS iterations.
Today, we want to discuss some amazing changes in Mainsail 10 as well as change management for terminals looking to migrate over to the new-and-improved system. With COVID-19 shaking up supply chains and many teams shifting to remote, migrating to a new system may seem daunting. But, with the rapid growth of containerization and terminal activity in this pandemic, Mainsail 10 provides unprecedented systems command to help you unburden the load and stay on top of your precious terminal data.
To top things off, we’ve made migration easy and painless with best-in-class project management, integration services, training, and go-live assistance backed up by our 24/7 maintenance and support. We’re ready to help you experience faster turn times and more robust data control in the most painless, remote-enabled way possible.
Things to Get Excited About With Mainsail 10
“We are thrilled to introduce our next-generation TOS that will offer a strategic advantage to terminal operators worldwide.” — Thomas Rucker, President at Tideworks
Iterating a new solution in the middle of a pandemic has its advantages. The recent supply chain frictions, global trade tensions, and confusing regulatory ecosystem put us in the perfect spot to think about how we could create something that’s tangibly valuable in any unforeseen circumstance.
With Mainsail 10, you can look forward to features like:
- A Maximized User Experience: How can we create a system that rewards tried-and-true industry veterans with the ease-of-use and familiarity they rely on while simultaneously giving new users a comfortable user-experience? Mainsail 10 uniquely combines efficiency, customization, and familiarity. Users can create complex, one-of-a-kind workflows while still relying on the same common framework they’ve become accustomed to over the years.
- Simplicity Without Sacrifice: Mainsail 10 is our most responsive, clean, and simple UI yet. Our new modern design facilitates operational capabilities with easy-to-understand interfaces and clear and consistent navigation. From mass-edits to powerful role-based permissions and workflows, Mainsail 10 makes it easy for operators and administrators.
- Unparalleled Third-party Integrations: We’re breaking down silos. Mainsail 10 supports a wide variety of third-party integrations including, port community systems, OCR, LPR, and RFID technologies. We want you to spend less time patching systems together and more time working towards one common goal.
That’s the tip of the iceberg. Mainsail 10 is our most ambitious, customer-centric, and ultimately powerful solution to date. But, we aren’t just making our solution better, we’re reshaping our go-live experience. Said Geoff Perry, Customer Success Manager at Tideworks, “A lot of terminals have had to cut back hours and shift a large subset of their labor force remote very quickly. So there’s a lot of nuances to navigate through a project like this as far as getting people up to speed. However, we’ve adapted unbelievably well to conducting remote training and have integrated tons of video content to help give the customer the next best thing to actually being on-site.”
Migrating to Mainsail 10: A Revolutionarily Simple Experience
“The Mainsail 10 go-live at MIT has been unique. Besides representing the first deployment, it was also carried out by Tideworks in the middle of a pandemic, where most of the support was given remotely. Although it seems strange (due to the amount of Go-Lives with site support), most of the team working remotely created a better synergy. None of the team was on their own talking with users in the terminal or making changes without consulting the rest of the team. Everything was channeled through Microsoft Teams where each member of the team indicated the progress of the assigned task and if there were any incidents. Having this procedure in place gave transparency to actions taken, and gave the user, in this case MIT, a good sense of the progress and when items would be concluded. In addition to the team’s excellent cohesion during this Go-Live, something that must also be noted is the fact that there were no critical incidents or moments where there were thoughts of rolling back to the previous version of Mainsail.” – Edgardo Lopez, Customer Success Engineer, Tideworks – Panama
Remote or not, we’re still here to help you go-live with Mainsail 10. We understand the challenges of shrinking capacity, remote conditions, and pandemic-fueled budgets. Our world-class customer success managers can help you find the right time to go-live under your terms. We’ve been working hard to optimize remote-enabled training sessions to help your team familiarize themselves with the newest version of Mainsail.
While the length of the upgrade process is dependent on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) results and existing systems, our team is there to provide you with support during your entire go-live process. The actual go-live deployment, like previous iterations, spans a weekend. Unlike some other vendors, we aren’t putting a timeline on Mainsail 10 to force you to upgrade under certain conditions.
However, we heavily recommend getting together with your team and strategizing your timeline and hardware needs. Despite the current conditions, the newer technology introduced by Mainsail 10 can massively impact your workflow speed, auditing trails, reporting, and overall experience.
Upgrading a TOS is challenging, but can revolutionize an entire operation for the better if done properly.
Like any new system, Mainsail 10 has a small learning curve, but it’s offset by a faster, smarter, and simpler interface to help you find exactly what you need when you need it. Again, we’ve invested in remote learning solutions to help you train your team up to handle this new iteration.
Are You Ready to Experience the Unparalleled Stability of Mainsail 10?
