Latest Software Provides Customers with Efficient, Reliable Terminal Operations Technology to Address Productivity Challenges
Seattle, WA — Tuesday, November 09, 2010
Tideworks Technology®, Inc., a leading provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced Mainsail Vanguard, its next generation terminal operating system (TOS). Mainsail Vanguard addresses productivity challenges in terminal operations by utilizing the latest technology to help users find information faster and more easily without the need for custom development.
“We are thrilled to announce our next generation terminal operating system, Mainsail Vanguard. We’ve listened closely to our customers’ needs and wants over the years of deploying our TOS solutions, and we believe Mainsail Vanguard delivers on what we’ve heard along the way,” said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks Technology. “Tideworks wants to make it possible for our customers to take full advantage of the latest technology available to significantly improve their terminal operations.”
Built on Adobe Flex, a Rich Internet Application (RIA) framework for building highly interactive applications, Mainsail Vanguard offers a highly intuitive, customized user experience that helps terminals operate more efficiently, and sets a new standard for usability and ease of deployment in the terminal operations industry.
Mainsail Vanguard offers several key features and benefits designed to improve the user experience and increase terminals’ operating efficiency, including:
• Flexible, Interactive Search Tools. Users can instantly find the information they need with more features accessible from a single screen. They can easily filter and sort data, drill-down into details, graph search results, mass edit results and save searches and reports.
• One TOS for Containers, Ro-Ro and Break-bulk. Mainsail Vanguard incorporates all the functionality needed to handle any cargo type, including containers, rolling stock and break-bulk cargo.
• Customized User Experience. Mainsail Vanguard offers a robust set of administrative options that makes it possible for terminal management to select the features that are most appropriate for their terminal, as well as control which users are able to view, add, edit and delete data on each screen. Individual users can also set specific preferences to view and sort data the way they want to see it.
• Lower Total Cost of Ownership. Built for the web on a modern and flexible RIA development platform, Mainsail Vanguard offers a simple, cost effective means to deploy, run and modify the TOS to the customer’s specific needs.
Mainsail Vanguard represents the latest innovation from Tideworks in its continuous efforts to improve its products and provide its customers with powerful solutions based on the most current technologies.
“It was important for us to involve our customers in the process of developing Mainsail Vanguard,” said Schwank. “We have been working with beta partners all along and are now making the first version of Mainsail Vanguard available to our customer base, free of charge, so they can begin taking advantage of its features and provide us additional feedback.”
The product incorporates existing functionality currently available in Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System. Future releases will include expanded capabilities to handle all cargo types as well as comprehensive modules for billing, Container Freight Station (CFS) operations and more. Mainsail Vanguard is already scheduled for deployment at two Tideworks’ client sites in 2011.
