Tideworks discusses how terminals can get more out of their data, Container Management

With issues such as the Panama Canal’s restrictions and the attacks in the Red Sea making it a challenge for terminal operations to accurately forecast demand and volumes, terminals should leverage different data types to improve accuracy, according to Chad Van Derrick, vice president of software product management at Tideworks Technology.

He noted that integrations are crucial to increasing and maintaining precision across tech deployments and data.

Van Derrick told CM: “Terminal operating systems (TOS) solutions work to provide precise data to identify patterns and trends, allowing for more accurate demand and volume forecasts. Integrations from TOS also enable port systems to have different touch points of data. This technology allows for scenario planning that can account for a range of potential supply chain disruptions and changes in demand.”
