Two of Florida’s Largest Terminals Leverage Digital Bridge to Improve Performance and Customer Service
Seattle, WA — Tuesday, January 19, 2010
Tideworks Technology®, Inc., a leading provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced the successful implementation of Digital Bridge™ at two of Florida’s largest terminals – Ports America Tampa and Port Everglades Terminal (PET). Digital Bridge is a Web-based monitoring system that provides terminal operators with complete visibility into real-time terminal performance and facilitates operational and customer service improvements.
With an intuitive browser-based interface and instantaneous visibility to key performance indicators, Digital Bridge enables terminal management to analyze data using dynamic gate, yard, vessel and rail metrics, so they can make informed business decisions. Ports America Tampa and PET are utilizing Digital Bridge to enhance terminal processes and customer service by providing easy-to-use performance monitoring tools. Digital Bridge went live at both terminals in November 2009.
“The implementation of Digital Bridge has allowed us to aggregate our operational data in order to gain greater visibility into overall terminal performance,” said Javier Miranda, terminal manager of the Port Everglades Terminal. “This solution in addition to other applications from Tideworks, have helped increase operational efficiency at PET.”
PET and Ports America Tampa are both existing Tideworks customers. PET began working with Tideworks in 2004 with its implementation of Mainsail Terminal Management System®, Mainsail Online, Spinnaker Planning Management System®, Traffic Control,™ and Forecast® solutions, and later with its deployment of GateVision® to streamline gate processing. With the addition of Digital Bridge, PET is utilizing Tideworks’ entire suite of container terminal operation applications.
Ports America Tampa deployed Tideworks’ Mainsail, Mainsail Online, Forecast and Spinnaker solutions in a fully-hosted environment in 2006, followed by the addition of Traffic Control in 2008. Ports America Tampa is now taking advantage of the performance metrics available in Digital Bridge.
“Digital Bridge allows us to provide real-time answers to our customers without delay with regards to our entire container terminal operation,” said Sal Kass, general manager at Ports America Tampa. “Not only can day-to-day staff use this tool, our senior management is also able to log in from any remote wireless location with use of a laptop and Digital Bridge software. Time is money, and the more efficient our tools are the better service we can provide to our customers.”
“Tideworks’ goal is to enable our customers to grow their business by providing them with technological solutions that automate operations, expand customer service capabilities and reduce costs,” said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks Technology. “Tideworks partners with its customers to make sure the right solutions are deployed and ensure these solutions scale as the terminal’s business grows. Ports America Tampa and PET are two great examples of this commitment.”
Digital Bridge was first introduced to the market in mid-2008 and is currently in use at eight terminals located on the U.S. west coast and in Panama and Poland, in addition to PET and Ports America Tampa.
