Terminal in the Port of New Orleans is the Latest to Implement Tideworks’ Fully Hosted Model
Seattle, WA July 07, 2015 – Tideworks Technology® Inc., a full-service provider of comprehensive terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced that it has been selected by New Orleans Terminal, LLC, operated by Ceres Terminals, Inc., to implement its full suite of terminal operating system (TOS) solutions. New Orleans Terminal will leverage Tideworks’ solutions under a fully-hosted model, making it the second terminal in the Ceres network to implement Tideworks’ solutions.
“We are thrilled to be selected as New Orleans Terminal’s technology partner for this project and look forward to further building our relationship with Ceres,” said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks Technology. “We’re confident that our comprehensive offerings will meet New Orleans Terminal’s unique needs and help their facility operate more efficiently.”
The project includes deployment of Tideworks’ core terminal operating system, Mainsail Vanguard®, Spinnaker Planning Management System®, Traffic Control™, and the Forecast® web portal. Additionally, Tideworks will provide its managed EDI service, known as EDI PorterSM, so New Orleans Terminal can easily exchange information with its trading partners and other enterprise systems. It will also integrate with a previously implemented, third-party gate automation supplier. The TOS infrastructure will be hosted and supported at Tideworks’ hardened data center.
“New Orleans Terminal was the first container facility in the Port of New Orleans to use computerized portals at the gate complex, and we want to maintain our reputation as a modern facility by continuing to evolve our systems,” said James Parker, vice president of Ceres Gulf New Orleans. “We believe Tideworks’ full-service model will help us achieve both our operational and financial goals, and we’re very excited to work with them.”
As part of its comprehensive solution, Tideworks will also deliver all associated implementation services to ensure the transition goes smoothly. These consist of project management, software configuration and installation, integration services so data can seamlessly flow between the TOS and other business critical systems, user training, and go-live assistance. Post-implementation, Tideworks will provide its platinum maintenance and support services including regular software updates and ongoing 24/7 technical support. Tideworks will also provide software customization to fit the terminal’s unique operating practices, particularly around the terminal’s gate operations.
