Here in the Seattle area, families are rising to the occasion seeing how they can best help themselves and those around them during this unprecedented coronavirus outbreak.
Tideworks is like family and nothing is more important than the health and safety of our employees, partners and customers. We continue to closely monitor the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) to ensure we are taking every precaution to look after our community and everyone in the Tideworks ecosystem. Our sister and parent companies, SSA Marine and Carrix, are out in front of this effort in Seattle, helping to lead the way.
In close coordination with Carrix, our parent organization, we are implementing safety precautions and travel guidelines to help minimize any added risk to our partners, customers, and employees. We are limiting travel for our employees to only business-critical customer needs and are limiting in-person participation at large-scale events. As we continue monitoring this evolving situation globally, here in Seattle, we are crafting new ways to keep our Tideworks family connected and engaged in an environment that puts the wellbeing of our customers and employees first.
We are working closely with our global and domestic Tideworks leaders to ensure that we are collectively taking vigilant, thoughtful approaches to this dynamic challenge and will continue to refine this approach as needed based on the guidance of local and global health agencies like the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.
In addition to the increased facilities cleaning and staggered workplace schedules for the team members, we have expanded our remote working systems and developed new capabilities to address the changing risk landscape. Our cybersecurity team has increased awareness to the new threats that are trying to exploit this situation and our engineering as well as operational teams are flexing to meet the remote working demands.
Our Corporate business services and supporting suppliers have been under review and contacted to ensure continued service. Rest assured that we are continually reviewing and adjusting our pandemic plan to the changing conditions.
The COVID-19 news out of Seattle is alarming. The spread of the disease is a serious matter for which we all feel a great responsibility. As of today, everyone at Tideworks is well and whether working from headquarters, a home office or kitchen counters, we’re committed to your success now more than ever. We recognize as well as anyone, the unavoidable impact this virus has on your terminal operations. And so, we will continue managing what we can control within our workforce for all stakeholders and our greater community in Seattle and beyond.
Thank you for the well wishes and continued support as a member of the global logistics community and our Tideworks family.
