Tideworks Technology has deployed its terminal operating platform to support the restart of container operations at Oregon Container Terminal, restoring international container handling at the Port of Portland.
Formerly known as the Port of Portland’s Terminal 6, the terminal has resumed container handling with Tideworks’ terminal operating and planning systems in place, supporting yard, gate, vessel and equipment operations as services ramp up.
The Tideworks platform provides real-time operational visibility and planning capability, enabling coordinated decision-making as the terminal re-enters service. The system is intended to give operators the flexibility to stabilize early operations and scale as volumes return.
Deployed as a hosted SaaS environment, Tideworks’ solution at Oregon Container Terminal includes Mainsail® TOS, Spinnaker Planning Management System, Traffic Control™, Forecast, Gate Vision and EDI Porter, bringing together terminal execution, planning, gate management and data exchange within a single operating framework.
Subbu Bhat, Interim President and Head of Engineering at Tideworks Technology, said: “The relaunch of Oregon’s only container terminal represents a significant moment for regional trade and supply chain resiliency.
“We value our relationship with the port and our role in providing a scalable technology backbone that positions the new ownership and the terminal for long-term scalability and performance as operations evolve.”
The restart of container services restores direct international container access for Oregon-based importers and exporters, reducing reliance on alternative gateways and supporting regional supply chain resilience.
Jeff Horst, Director of Commercial and Marketing at Oregon Container Terminal, stated: “Restarting container service at Oregon Container Terminal is a significant moment for the region and the customers who depend on this terminal.
“It restores direct access for Oregon importers and exporters and strengthens cargo flow across the Pacific Northwest. Having a modern terminal technology platform in place also helps support efficient operations from day one and positions the terminal to scale as demand grows.”
